Dear Supporters!

I hope this message finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I share an important update regarding our beloved “The Drop” Christmas Card program.

Over the past seven years, Continue the Story has had the privilege of sending over 100,000 Christmas cards to inmates across Ohio, bringing joy and hope to those who need it most. This incredible achievement would not have been possible without your unwavering support and generosity.

Unfortunately, due to a significant increase in costs—over 35% for stamps and supplies—we have been forced to reconsider how we can continue “The Drop” in a sustainable manner. This summer, we began collaborating with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) to explore new methods that would maintain the personal touch of each card while utilizing their new Mail Processing Center. This partnership had the potential to reduce our costs by more than 60% and allow us to expand the program even further.

Despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure the necessary approvals in time to implement these changes for this Christmas season. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to pause “The Drop” for 2024.

We remain committed to our mission and will continue working with ODRC to find a viable solution that will enable us to resume “The Drop” in the future. As we look to the future, we hope to find a way that not only continues “The Drop” but also allows us to be bigger and better, sending more cards than we ever have in one year. We ask for your prayers that God will open the doors needed to make this possible.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to sharing more updates with you as we work towards a sustainable future for “The Drop.”

Warm regards,

Mic Mohler
